THE LOOK | gray sweater (similar), black textured skirt, booties (similar), bow clutch, sunglasses
In case you’re wondering why the heck I opened today’s post with that sentence for an outfit post (and used that title), here’s why: These photos were shot at the apartment from Friends and every Friends’ episode began with, “The One…”. It’s actually really funny to think about how realistically small the apartments are inside 90 Bedford Street, and the show made it look like they had HUGE apartments.
Side note: There were SO many tourists doing a walking tour of the West Village and were amazed at the apartment from Friends. So basically, I had an audience staring at me while shooting. SO FUN.
I think this is one of my first times wearing a sweater with a skirt! For whatever reason, I could never find the perfect sweater to go with the perfect skirt. Something always just looked SO off to me, even though everyone wears this combo. Either my sweaters are too chunky, too long, or something else is just weird.
But when my sister gave me this sweater (sold out, but keep checking back! This one is also similar) one day, I knew it would look great with my black textured (and soft) skirt! Luckily, when I tried it on, it did. Don’t you just hate when that happens? You come up with such a *cute* outfit and then you put it on and it looks so awful – IT’S THE WORST! Good thing that wasn’t the case here;)
I love this sweater with a skirt look because it’s a great mix of dressed up elements and more casual pieces. I’d 100% wear this sweater with these jeans (which by the way, I just ordered and I LOVE them). And I’d definitely pair this skirt with a top like this. It’s so important to have pieces in your wardrobe that you can mix, match, and wear in many different ways!
